Nursing Department

Nurse Assistant: 

Full Time (40 hrs) 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. – 2 North

Part Time (8 hrs) 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. – 2 North

Part Time (12 hrs) 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. – IRU

Full Time (40 hrs) 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. – 3 North

Full Time (40 hrs) 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. - 2 North

Provides basic nursing care to patients under direct supervision.  Evidence of being able to work as a team, under close supervision and follow instructions needed, completion of two weeks on the job training required.

Registered Nurse - OB

Full Time (36 hrs) 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Provides professional nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, post partum, and nursery units according to established procedures.  Associate's degree (ADN) from two-year college or Bachelor's Degree (BSN) from a four year college an successful completion of a prescribed curriculum of study which has led to licensure as a REgistered Nurse in the state of Kansas.  Give evidence of possessing the experience of a licensed nurse on a staff level.  Preferable has at least two years of successful practice in nursing.  Preferably previous labor, delivery, post partum and nursery experience.  If no experience must complete on the job training.

Home Care

Certified Physical Therapy Assistant:  Full Time (40 hrs) Float

Under supervision of Physical Therapist, performs treatments and provides exercise instructions and demonstrations for patients.  Assess patient progress and modify treatments if needed.  Certificate from a two year Physical Therapy Assistant program; Licensed in the state of Kansas as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

 

Rehab Services 

Occupational Therapist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Plans and implements OT programs to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped.  Directs patient participation in selected tasks and exercises to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.  Registered Occupational Therapist licensed in the state of Kansas.

Environmental Services 

Floor Care Tech:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Under general supervision, to clean and maintain assigned areas and to perform a variety of Environmental Services duties in and around hospital properties, meeting assigned standards of cleanliness, using germicides, cleaning solutions, floor finishes, and equipment, both manual and powered.  

 

Surgery 

Surgery Tech/RN

Full Time (40 hrs)

Full Time (40 hrs)

Prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques.  Provides technical services and assists in operating room, emergency room and ICU as assigned and directed.  Previous experience along with Scrub Tech Certificate desired or Registered Nurse licensure required.

Education 

Patient/Staff Educator:  Full Time (40 hrs)

A professional educator who collaborates with the Labette Health employees and directors in assessing, planning, implementing, providing and evaluating orientation, continuing education and in service education programs at the individual and organizational level.  Designs, implements, coordinates, provides, and evaluates specific patient education programs for individuals or group across the continuum of care or at one specific facility or multi site. Provides education to new employees assigned to clinical areas.   This position is also responsible  for the development, application and maintenance of a nursing skills lab for new and current employees and patient education excluding diabetes.   BSN or BS or equivalent experience (usually 4 years) in a health care or related field required.  Previous patient care clinical experience required (usually 3 years.) Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, federal, state, and local requirements.  Previous patient teaching, program planning, experience and adult learning theory desirable (usually 2 years.)

Pharmacy 

Pharmacist:  Full Time (40 hrs)

Prepares, compounds and dispenses prescribed medication for patient care within the hospital as per established policies and procedures.  Calculates and monitors drug dosages for safe and effective therapy, especially as authorized by medical staff or individual physician instructions.  Fully uses departmental and hospital processes and systems to insure correct distributive and clinical pharmaceutical care activities.  Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy with a five year collegiate program in pharmacy.  Completion of pharmacy internship.  One year experience as registered pharmacist desired.  Current license as Registered Pharmacist with State of Kansas.

Business Office

 

Registration Specialist - Full Time (40 hrs) – 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Performs a wide variety of responsible computer clerical tasks, including such duties as admitting patients, cashiering, being a receptionist, operating the switchboard, and performing general clerk duties.  One to two years previous experience desired.

 

Administration

Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President of Nursing - Full Time

Provides leadership and carries responsibility for clinical services and resource management of patient care functions.  Has the ultimate administrative authority and accountability for the practice of nursing and adherence to nursing standards.  Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the administrative functions of the patient care service areas; delegates to appropriate levels; supervises and coordinates nursing services; and evaluates clinical standards to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective health care delivery.  Assures achievement of facility goals in conjunction with the mission statement and adherence to regulatory and accrediting standards.  Is a member of the Senior Executive Team; participates with other leaders in the Governing Board, Medical Staff, Administrative Staff, Department Directors, and other clinical services structures and processes; and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.  RN with Masters (M.S.) in Health related field.  Minimum 2 years executive level management experience. 

Patient Financial Services Director - Full Time

The Patient Financial Services Director has the responsibility of assuring the accurate and timely patient admissions/registration, billing and collections for Labette Health patients (including hospital, EMS and Home Health).  The director is also responsible for PBX/Switchboard and centralized scheduling.  The Director is held accountable by demonstrating effective management of the identification, design, implementation and monitoring of a system of methods and procedures for the revenue cycle ensuring accurate information is captured as early as possible in the patient scheduling/registration process, notification to third party insurance companies occurs as required by 3rd party (including Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross and Managed Care Contracts) or as needed to ensure prompt payment of the account; duplication of work is eliminated; and work and cash flows are relatively consistent over the course of the fiscal year.  Assures compliance with all related regulations.  Identifies innovative approach to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.  The Director works cooperatively with the Director of Heath Information Management, Utilization Review and Financial Services to ensure contractual requirements are completed.  Director also works closely with the Director of Information Technology to maximize system efficiencies. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; with 3-5 years progressive hospital management experience with Patient Financial Services minimum.  Substantial 5-7 years progressive hospital management experience in Patient Financial Services may be in lieu of education.  Proven leadership, management, problem solving and analytical abilities.  Proven communication and interpersonal skills.  Track record of innovation, creativity and accomplishment.
