Physical Therapy (PT) involves the rehabilitation of a person to improve movement and function and prevent, identify, correct, or alleviate acute or prolonged movement dysfunction following disease, injury, surgery or amputation. Each client is evaluated and treated with an individualized PT program to achieve maximal physical function in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Services

  • Neuromuscular reeducation of movement, balance, coordination, and posture control.
  • Therapeutic exercise to develop strength, endurance, range of motion, and flexibility.
  • Training in proper use of assistive mobility devices during walking or in use of a wheelchair.
  • Joint mobilization to restore functional motion.
  • Dynamic activities to improve functional performance.
  • Application of modalities to reduce pain and improve mobility such as: electric stimulation, whirlpool, ultrasound, vasopneumatic pump, massage, iontophoresis.
  • Recommend and train in use of splints for joint protection.
  • Teach proper use of prosthetic devices following amputation.

Physical Therapists treat the full spectrum of people, from infants to the elderly. The next time an ache or pain just won't resolve on its own, or other activities cannot be performed properly due to physical restriction, physical therapy may be the answer.
