SCHAICH In addition to attending to the physical health of their patients, Labette Health and the chaplains working in pastoral care believe that spiritual health and strength is an important part of the body's healing process. Labette Health makes sure that patients do not have to face any news about their health alone. Pastoral care team members can be available at any time. John Schaich has been directing this service at Labette Health for more than 12 years. "I felt the call of God on my life in 1950. I really enjoy helping people understand God and their fellow man." A chapel, located on the first floor opposite the admitting lobby, is also available at anytime for meditation or prayer. John, as well as members of the nursing staff, can contact spiritual support personnel for patients to arrange visits with them, their family members or friends.
