ALICE BEACHNER
VOLUNTEER

Labors of love. That's a perfect way to describe the work that's done in the community by retired homemaker, Alice Beachner. But trying to describe her simply as a busy lady who's always on the go and hard to catch doesn't quite give the complete picture. Alice travels, gardens, reads, volunteers for her church and spends a great deal of time with her grandchildren – frequently attending their many family sporting events. And yet she still finds time for hospital volunteer work. Alice has been an active member of the Labette Health Auxiliary, Pink Ladies, for nearly 20 years and also serves as the secretary of the Labette Health Foundation Board.

Although she's happy to work wherever needed, the main focus of Alice's service at Labette Health is helping get needed supplies dispersed throughout the hospital. She's proud to be one of the Pink Ladies' team that provides so many services – for a pretty simple reason. "I just really like being around people and helping them."

Alice not only loves doing work that benefits both patients and visitors, she also loves working with the Labette Health professionals. A major strength she sees during the many hours she spends at the hospital is the continuous interest and effort they employ to obtain and use the latest technology. She loves being connected with her hospital and doesn't hesitate to recommend Labette Health for medical treatment because, she emphasizes, "They have so many caring professionals there with the hometown touch."
