cancer doc's story

NASSIM H. NABBOUT, M.D.
THE CANCER CENTER OF KANSAS

Religion and love.  No other two words could better explain the reason Dr. Nassim Nabbout answered the defining call which led him to pursue a life dedicated to helping others through the practice of medicine, with a specialty in Hematology and Oncology.

"I was raised in a very religious Christian environment and I always wanted to pursue the care of Christianity, which can be summarized by two words: love and sacrifice.  I felt that being a physician would help me fulfill my beliefs.  Now, I never regret that decision."

A love of interacting with his patients combined with guidance from God directed Dr. Nabbout in his medical practice which he thoroughly enjoys. "I admire, specifically, my cancer patients as they have this extraordinary will to fight the disease.  I feel that God has chosen me to help them through this fight.  Many people ask me how I can treat cancer patients without getting depressed, but I always assure them that I enjoy what I do.  My job is very rewarding, more than any other specialty I could have chosen."

For two years Dr. Nabbout has traveled from Wichita to Parsons to direct  the care given through The Cancer Center of Kansas at Labette Health.  And, the skilled care and loving attitude he found in the staff has made this trip and work enjoyable.

"I enjoy working with the people at this hospital because they are always willing to help.  Their attitudes are caring and genuine toward the patients.  The Caner Center of Kansas is very grateful for the support we receive from the staff in all the departments. We feel welcome here and continue to appreciated the support of Labette Health and the physicians in Parsons."
