MAHONEY While searching for a career that would provide him with the opportunity to do what he likes best, serving others, William Mahoney found his nichè in Hospital Administration. After six years as CEO of a Critical Access Hospital , he discovered a promising position at Labette Health. Stepping into that position has been a good move for him and this midwest, family-oriented community. "I chose Hospital Administration because I like helping people. I found it was a good way to do what I like with the skills I possess. I really enjoy meeting with the entire Labette Health staff, the public and our medical staff." Working in the medical field in this rural facility affords some benefits to professionals that aren't available in larger city settings. This not only includes personal career opportunities, but benefits for their families as well. When he's not at work, William enjoys being able to pursue a healthy family life -- spending time with his wife, playing with his children, playing basketball, reading, or serving with the Boy Scouts. When at work, however, he also gets a healthy dose of problem solving opportunities as he keeps Labette Health moving forward. Labette Health is well known for having cutting edge technology that is not offered by their rural counterparts and that was one factor that caught William's attention.The solid medical staff was the motivation that prompted William to join the Labette Health team. But it is the dedication to its mission and complete quality care package provided by the staff and volunteers at this institution, that really won him over. "Labette Health has so many strengths -- so many specialty offerings in a rural community, a solid loyal medical staff, dedicated volunteers like the Pink Ladies, a great Board of Trustees and excellent rehab services -- just to touch on a few. I feel blessed to work in an industry where we truly make a difference in someone's life."
