HOMER
WHITHORN
CANCER SURVIVOR
Homer Whithorn knows what he likes . He likes
to work with computers – in fact, he's a real computer
enthusiast. He places fishing high on his list of favorite
hobbies. Homer places security high on another list – his
priority list for health care . Just as security was an important
part of the job he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunitions plant,
it continues to be an important issue for Homer and his wife
Daisy during retired life . They spent a great deal of time
together seeking a place to get quality treatment for his chronic
leukemia. And they found the health care security they were
looking for right in their own back yard.
They found The Cancer Center of Kansas. Working
with patients to secure the individualized care needed during
each treatment process is a high priority for the staff of The
Cancer Center. Its location at Labette Health, in the Whithorns'
home community of Parsons, gives the couple access to specialized
care which would be difficult for them to manage if they had
to travel very far.
"I like the fact that I can get my treatments
in Parsons instead of having to drive to Wichita. Dr. Nubitt
shows great concern every time we meet with him. He is very thorough
and friendly." |
